How to dome a printed decal

1.Weed your printed work to prepare it for doming.

2.Lay your work on a flat glass sheet - use masking tape to secure3.Place plunger into dispenser, ensuring serrated edge faces the handle.

4.Place the cartridge into the dispensing gun.

5.Remove the safety cap from the cartridge by turning 90 and gently pulling.

6.Gently break off the seal of the cartridge. Keep the seal in a safe place for resealing later.7.Squeeze the dispenser until both cylinders are both ejecting resin.

8.Now attach the static mixer to the cartridge. (This screws in)

9.Pull gently on the trigger until the resin is ejected from the end of that static mixer.

10.Dome your decals by gently squeezing resin onto the surface. Be careful to not apply too much or too little (this will come with practice). The resin will automatically move toward the silicon coated backing paper. Don't worry if it doesn't move all theway to the edge of the decal.

12.Repair decals that have uncovered areas by dragging the resin gently outwards with a scalpel or utility knife.

13.Next, place a sheet of glass on spacers over domed decals to prevent dust etc from affecting your decals.

14.Relevant sections of the instructions can be used for all domed objects.

Tips:

1. After leaving the decal for 5 minutes, if there are any bubbles a quick flash with the bubble remover should remove them. Do not leave flame on. Just a quick flash.The heat will cause the bubbles to pop and give you a flawless finish.2. If bubbles do not come out place repair tool into resin and move around to bring bubble to top surface. Then do another quick flash with the bubble remover.3. If resin has run off decal. Let resin set for 5-6 minutes. Then with repair tool scrape alongside of decal scraping resin away from decal. The resin will reseal itself.
